Los Angeles Dodgers Option Michael Grove to Oklahoma City
Grove Optioned to Minor Leagues after 25 Big-League Games
Dodgers' Starting Pitcher Assigned to Triple-A Affiliate
The Los Angeles Dodgers have optioned right-handed starting pitcher Michael Grove to their Triple-A affiliate, the Oklahoma City Dodgers. The move follows Grove's struggles in the majors this season.
Grove made 18 starts for the Dodgers in 2022 and 2023, posting a 5.54 ERA and a 1.47 WHIP in 75 innings pitched. He struck out 58 batters and walked 34.
The Dodgers are hoping that the move will allow Grove to get back on track and develop his skills in the minor leagues. He will likely start for Oklahoma City and could be recalled to the majors later this season if he performs well.
